Burmese Army Troops Continue Shelling Gidon Post with Heavy Mortars

Burmese army troops based in Dabak fired 10 rounds of 105 mm mortars at Lai Hpawng, a post manned by KIA’s 3rd Battalion under 5th Brigade at around 10:00 a.m. on December 11. Additionally, Burmese troops stationed at Hpau Gu Bum also fired 8 rounds of 60 mm mortars at the same KIA post, a frontline source reported.

According to another source, Burmese army troops based in Kagam, Nhkram and active along Sama route fired 75 rounds of 82 mm, 105 mm and 120 mm mortars at KIA’s Gidon post fended by 252nd Mobile Battalion approximately from 10:10 a.m. – 2:38 p.m. on December 11. The Burmese army troops have fired a total of 104 heavy mortar rounds as of December 12 in the morning, the source said.

In northern Shan State in Manau Bum area between Muse and Nam Hkam, fighting broke out between KIA’s 17th Battalion and Burmese army’s 33rd Light Infantry Regiment at 5:00 p.m. on December 10. The deadly clashes resumed on December 12 at 12:00 a.m., according to a frontline source.

Clashes were reported between KIA’s 9th Battalion under 4th Brigade with unknown Burmese troops on December 11 at around 11:15 a.m.
