Burmese army continued its attacks against KIA 252nd Mobile Battalion’s Nhkram Gidon post and KIA’s 3rd Battalion’s Lai Hpawng post despite the high number of casualties reported.
An attack helicopter and a fighter jet bombared Lai Hpawng post on Friday between 1:50 pm and 2:25 pm.
Similarly, KIA’s Nhkram Gidon post was bombed by a Mikoyan MiG-35 fighter jet and an attack helicopter on the same day at 4:05 pm.
KIA sources said Burmese army troops from Mogaung-based 3rd Military Operations Command (MOC-3) and Monywa-based North Western Command are involved in current operations against KIA’s frontline posts and have stepped up their ground offensives with aerial support.
Burmese army’s Gang Dau – based artillery unit fired 6 rounds of 105 mm howitzer shells on Nhkram Gidon post from 12:20 pm to 2:40 pm. Burmese army troops also reportedly fired several artillery rounds on KIA frontline positions from Nhkram and Kagam.
Local sources said more Burmese army troops have arrived in Nhkram area from Katsu and Dabak.
