A battle took place between a combined force of KIA’s 12th and 27th Battalions and Burmese Army troops from 15th and 105th Light Infantry Battalions at Ga Sha Nawng, located between Si Kaw and Kawng Ja village, in Mansi Township on Sept 8 at 7:40 am. The battle lasted for about 2 hours and no casualties have been reported from either side.
KIA source said its 12th Battalion troops had withdrawn from Si Kaw village following Burmese Army’s attack. The source said battles continue today as Burmese Army troops chased after KIA troops who are heading towards Kawng Ja village.
