KIA and TNLA Troops Battled Burmese Army in Kachin and Shan State

About 100 Burmese army soldiers under 66th Light Infantry Division (LID) attacked and seized KIA’s Danyin Kone Post in Hpakant Township, eastern Kachin State on Feb 2 at 10:55 am. A KIA source says its troops had to withdraw from the frontline post at around 1 pm.

A battle took place between KIA’s 8th Battalion troops led by Maj. Nhku La Ring and an unknown Burmese army column between Nawng Hkyu and Nam Hku village in Namtu Township, northern Shan State on Feb 2 at 8 am.

A skirmish broke out between Burmese army’s 38th Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) troops and KIA’s 14th Battalion troops near Noi Je Bum in Tanai Township in eastern Kachin State on Feb 1 at 12:30 pm, said a KIA source.

PSLF/TNLA Information Department reported that 3 attack helicopters from Burmese army’s Air Force were used to attack TNLA troops near Pan Ti La village in Mogoke Township on Tuesday at around 6 pm. TNLA troops continue to battle Burmese army troops in Mogoke Township.

TNLA’s 717th Battalion troops fought against Burmese army’s Momeik-based 223rd LIB troops near Shwe Nyaung Pin village in Mogoke Township on Feb 2 at around 8:40 am. The two sides encountered again near Shwe Tar Yar village on the same day at around 4 pm. At least 9 Burmese army soldiers and one TNLA soldier died in the battle, said TNLA source.
