Funeral Held for Lasham Tu Nan Killed near Man Jum Village

A funeral service was held today at Kachin Baptist Church for Lasham Tu Nan (21) who had been shot and killed by a Burmese army’s 68th Light Infantry Battalion troops near Man Jum village in northern Shan State.

Man Jum villagers found the body of Lasham Tu Nan on Jan 24 at around 1:30 pm near their village.

Lasham Tu Nan and another 15-year-old boy Nawng Ja were arrested and held by Burmese Army column as hostages. They both are just ordinary civilians working to make ends meet.

Another 15-year-old boy, Nawng Ja, is still in the hands of the Burmese army column. Locals reported they saw Burmese soldiers tied Nawng Ja’s hands and marched around Nawng Hkyu village.
