All Burma Students Democratic Force (ABSDF – North) on Saturday commemorates 26th anniversary of its founding in 1988 at Jang Htung Lahkum Bum near Laiza in Kachin State.
ABSDF (North) commander Labya La Seng said the organization has endured 26 years and the principles upon which the organization founded has proven to be the right ones.
Yebaw Yaw Shu read out the statement of ABSDF’s central committee. In a message, Ye Baw Aung Shwe Oo reminds the participants the needs to remain vigilant and urges to be united in its fight against military junta.
On behalf of KIO, Col. Maran Zau Tawng said, “We are still far from achieving what we set out to do despite ongoing negotiations with government’s delegation”. He added, “We honor those who have fallen on this 26th anniversary day.”
The celebration for the 26th anniversary was concluded by honoring Yebaw Aye Maung and Yebaw Kyaw Htun Naing who fought and died in Laja Yang battle. Labya La Seng has awarded the Certificate of Honour to the parents of Yebaw Aye Maung and Yebaw Kyaw Htun Naing.
