Derek Mitchell, US Ambassador to Burma, visited Kachin State capital Myitkyina on October 25-27.
Local sources said Ambassador Mitchell met with Kachin community leaders, leaders of Kachin Baptist Convention, KIO Technical Team members, Peace-talks Creation Group (PCG) members, political parties, and government officials. Ambassador Mitchell and his wife Min also visited IDP camps in Myitkyina.
