A battle took place today between KIA’s 12th Battalion troops and a combined force of Burmese army’s 387th and 438th Light Infantry Regiments near Namlim Pa in Mansi Township. No casualties from either side have been reported in the battle that began at 1 pm and lasted for about an hour.
Another battle took place between KIA’s 12th Battalion troops and a combined force of Burmese army’s 47th and 237th Light Infantry Battalions at Mungding Pa at 6 pm, said a KIA frontline source.
Burmese government soldiers invaded Namlim Pa and Mungding Pa villages last month and occupied civilian homes. Villagers who fled their homes are currently living in four camps near China-Burma border. Local NGOs say about 12000 have been displaced by Burmese army’s offensive operations in Mansi.
