One of our students has been killed in this attack. It shelling continues like this, IDPs, students and local residents cannot live in Laiza anymore as there is no security for all civilians.”
The first mortar shell killed a deacon Malang Yaw Htung (age 76) and Nhkum Bawk Naw (age 46) injuring 4 others local women. The second mortar shell killed 9th grade student Hpauyu Doi Aung (age 15). The wounded are being transported to a hospital in China side of the border, said a local resident.
