Local sources reported that Rev. Gam Aung, the Pastor of Banggaw Kachin Baptist Church was arrested by Burmese Army soldiers on Nov 17, 2011 at 3 pm at Manwin village. He was on the phone at a shop house owned by a Bamar ethnic when Burmese Army soldiers came and arrested him. Local sources said no reasons were given for his arrest and there is still no news of his whereabouts. Burmese Army soldiers are increasingly targeting Kachin civilians in their fights against Kachin Independence Army.
