Three Kachin activists awarded “Mushe Award”

The three Kachin activists – Nang Pu, Zau Jat and Lum Zawng – have been presented “Mushe Award”, Kachin Human Rights Defender Award, jointly by World Kachin Congress, a network of Kachin communities and organizations around the world, and Kachin Consultative Assembly (WMR) at Myitkyina’s Manau Compound on Feb 13.

Nang Pu, Zau Jat and Lum Zawng have been imprisoned for six months in Myitkyina prison and charged a fine of 500,000 kyat each for defamation of the Burma Army under Article 500 of the Panel Law for leading peaceful rallies calling the Burma Army to allow safe passage for Kachin IDPs and humanitarian aid in April 2018.
