Kachin Independence Army (KIA)’s 6th Battalion troops reportedly ambushed a Burma Army (BA) convoy at Ale Sahkan junction in Hpakant township on May 30 at around 2 pm.
On the same day, BA troops based at Kamaing Tactical Command fired an artillery round on Kawng Ra village. The artillery shell fell at Mr. Ah Di’s house in No. (1) quarter in Kawng Ra village but no one was hit, said a local source.
On May 29 at 7:40 am, BA troops currently based at Point 1834 and 2453 fired five 60mm mortar rounds on KIA 33rd Battalion’s Dang Gaw Lagyawm post in Sumprabum township.
On May 28 at 3:45 pm, KIA troops under 7th Brigade launched an attack on BA’s 141st troops travelling between Lagwi and Dan Gaw village.
On May 27 at 11:30 am, BA troops currently based at Nawng Nyang village fired eight rounds of 81mm and 82mm shells at Zup Mai village, located on the way to Awng Lawt village in Danai township. Nam Hkam-based BA troops fired four artillery rounds on Kawng Ra Pa and Chyahkya Tu Kawng-based BA troops fired three artillery rounds on Awng Ba Maw on the same day.
On the same day on May 27, Kahtan Yang-based BA troops fired two 105mm howitzer rounds on Lai Nawng Hku area, one round on Nam Si En area, and another twenty four rounds on its surrounding area.
In Laiza area on May 27, BA troops currently based at Kagam Bum fired two 120mm mortar rounds on KIA 253rd Mobile Battalion’s positions at around 8 am.
