KIA’s 6th Battalion Troops Release 3 Captured Burmese Army Soldiers

KIA’s 6th battalion troops on Saturday released 3 captured Burmese army soldiers through Peace-talks Creation Group (PCG), a local group that have mediated a series of peace talks between Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Burmese Army.

The 3 Burmese army soldiers are Corporal Thet Maung Htwe (Ka Pa-959483), Myo Min Zaw (Ta – 532066) and Nay San Min (Ta-512360) from 255th Light Infantry Battalion under Pakokku-based 101st Light Infantry Division.

According to a letter signed by KIA 6th battalion’s commander, the three soldiers were captured by its troops during a battle at KBC prayer mountain in Nam Hai village in Mogaung township on February 1 at 7 pm. The 3 Myanma Tatmadaw soldiers have been transferred to PCG in accordance with the KIA’s POW policy, stated in the letter.
