Burmese Military Fighter Jets Continue Pounding KIA Outposts

On January 10 morning at around 4:00 in Kachin State, Burmese army troops active in Shing Chyai area reportedly fired several rounds of heavy artillery shells towards KIA positions in Ngwa Le fended by its 3rd Battalion troops under 5th Brigade. On the same day beginning at 1:30 p.m. near KIA’s Maisaw outpost, clashes erupted between KIA and Burmese army troops advancing from Daga Yang. In the evening at around 4:00 Burmese army troops belonging to several infantry units assaulted KIA’s Nga Gyang outpost, followed by airstrikes using a pair of fighter jets at 4:10 p.m., and again at 4:20 p.m., according to the KLN frontline source.

Similarly on January 10 in Pung Ling, an area controlled by KIA’s 252 Mobile Battalion troops, another pair of Burmese fighter jets conducted aerial assaults at 4:10 p.m., and again at 4:25 p.m., a frontline source reported.
