Multiple Mortars Fired From Surrounding Mountains Into Laiza Area

Burmese army’s artillery units currently stationed around KIO’s administrative capital Laiza fired several artillery rounds from surrounding mountains into Laiza area beginning 9:30 am on Thursday.

Burmese army’s artillery unit under 97th and 98th Light Infantry Battalions currently based at Dumbau Bum fired seven 81 mm mortar rounds on KIA’s security forces’ position at Yin Hpan Hkyet Post at around 9:30 am. Another artillery unit currently stationed at Mali fired 6 mortar rounds on Nhkram Kagam at around 10 am.

About the same time, Burmese army’s artillery unit currently stationed at Hang Kai Bum fired several mortar rounds on Jaw Maw and another artillery unit stationed at Hpunpyen Bum fired into position near ABSDF’s post at around 10:30 am.

More than 10 mortar shells fell near Munglai Hkyet IDPs Camp causing panic to residents already troubled by ongoing war.

Despite multiple mortars fell near civilian residential area, there have been no immediate reports of casualties.
