A local source said a mortar shell fired by Burmese Army troops on Monday fell near the fence of a house in Hu Hpyet village in Kutkai Township, northern Shan State. The house belongs to Lamai Yaw of Hu Hpyet village. Another shell fell inside a Hu Hpyet Church compound but didn’t explode, said the source.
A battle broke out between KIA’s 9th Battalion troops and an unknown Burmese Army unit under 99th Light Infantry Division at Kawng Jung Bum, located between Man Bung village and Hu Hpyet village, at 4 pm.
On the same day, TNLA troops fought Burmese Army troops under 99th LID at Kawng Jung Bum at around 1:30 pm.
