Father of Five Died from Injuries Sustained During Interrogation

Nboi Zau Nan, a 45-year-old villager, from Sum Pyi Yang in Sumpra Bum passed away on Oct 10 at 5 am. Nboi Zau Nan was arrested and interrogated by a combined force of Burmese Army’s 381st, 385th, and 389th Light Infantry Regiment troops under Mogaung-based 3rd Military Operations Command on July 21 at 12 am.

Nboi Zau Nan was reported to have died from injuries he sustained during interrogation. He is survived by his wife and five children.

Burmese Army troops from 381st, 385th and 389th LIRs were transported from Putao to Myitkyina on Oct 8-10. About 300 soldiers including the commander of 3rd MOC have returned to Myitkyina from Sum Pyi Yang area, reported a local source.
