Battles Rage in Northern Shan State

A battle took place between KIA’s 9th Battalion troops and Burmese Army troops under 99th Light Infantry Division at Dima Nawng Ing, located between Nampaka and Muse, in northern Shan State on Oct 6 at 7:30 am. The battle lasted for about 2 hours. A local source said Dima Pyi Thu Tsit troops accompanied about 200 Burmese troops to launch attack on KIA’s 9th Battalion position.

Another battle took place between KIA’s 9th Battalion troops and Burmese Army troops under 99th LID at a location between Htan Hpa Bum and Hu Hpyet, located between Kutkai and Nampaka, in northern Shan State on Oct 5. No casualties have been reported on either side.

Burmese Army troops currently stationed at Yaw Yung Bum in southern Kachin State fired 8 artillery rounds on KIA’s 1st Battalion position on Sept 6 at 8 am, reported a KIA frontline source.
