Military Tension Forces Hundreds to Flee Hpawng Seng


About 300 Kachin refugees from Hpawng Seng village in Muse Township have fled to Pangwa village in China side of the border on Tuesday. A local minister who is helping the refugees said they are facing food shortage as the number of refugees has been increasing. “More Burmese Army’s infantry units arrive in Mungkoe and Hpawng Seng area and I think the situation will escalate soon,” said the minister.
