KIA’s 36th Battalion Troops Fought Burmese Army in Northern Shan State

A combined force of KIA’s 36th Battalion troops and Kachin People Militia troops fought a Burmese Army unit at Nam Mwi Bridge near Mung Ya village in northern Shan State on June 3 at 10:45 pm. No Casualty numbers are available from either sides.

Another battle took place between KIA’s 2nd Battalion troops and an unknown Burmese Army Battalion troops at Man Jak village in Kut Kai Township on June 1 at 3:20 pm.

The battles rage between KIA troops and Burmese Government troops as leaders of Ethnic Armed Groups discuss whether to move forward with the draft Nationwide Ceasefire (NCA) agreement proposed by NCCT and UPWC representatives in a 4-day Summit in Law Khee Lar, KNU controlled area on June 2-6.
