Two Kachin Elders Injured by Shrapnel in Mung Baw Win Seng

Two Kachin elders were hit by shrapnel from artillery shells fired by a Burmese Army Infantry Battalion before its troops could march into the village on Saturday at Bang Hkyen village in Mung Baw Win Seng in Muse Township at about 11:30 am.
Slg Hkun Sam La and Slg Nawng Dawt, two elders of about 60 years of age, were hit while they were working in a field. Another elder who was sitting during that time when the bomb fell was not hurt, a local source said.
Hkun Sam La was hit in the stomach and Nawng Dawt was hit on the forehead by shrepnel. Both were taken to the Mung Baw hospital, said a local source.
